About Bob
I didnt get really interested in art until I was in my twenties. I piddled with it for a couple of years and then answered an ad for a part-time artist. The employer turned out to be AMF which had just purchased HarleyDavidson. I did several original designs for them. They asked me if I could produce t-shirts, so of course, I said yes, although at the time I didnt have a clue. I researched how to do it and found that no one really knew how in 1973. I bought a four-color manual t-shirt press, and with the help of a clerk at the screen printing supply, I learned enough to start.
So began a 45 year career in screen printing, everything from t-shirts to signs to electronic parts. It kept the bills paid and dinner on the table, but I was printing other peoples art.
I had always liked my younger brothers watercolor work, and after I retired I decided to try it myself. I became obsessed! Interrupted by a couple of surgeries last fall, I kept at it day after day, focusing on nature. We have such a wonderful creation all around us, and I love interacting and rendering their images.
None of my works are multimedia; even the tiny lines are executed with a small brush, so its watercolor all the way! Even my early works were praised by a local gallery owner and as with any endeavor, the more I painted the better I got.
I hope you will enjoy your walk through my collections. Perhaps you will find a piece you will choose to enjoy (or have a loved one enjoy) for a lifetime.
